will Toast or Toast lite have the drivers that will allow me to burn cd's
right now I have Spark ME but it can not find the cd/rw nor can my Itunes
what uis the best solution
I am going in through the USBPRE that I also use to run my MacFoh
1 a apple superdrive installed in my laptop
2roxio toast, or toast light
3 osx panther
4 osx jaguar
6 a dell

The burner is Iomega 52x24x52 usb2.0 running(or rather not running, hence
this inquiry) through a usb1.1 port

first , thanks for the time spent on my question
now
my mac only came with a 10gig internal and 7 of that is used
i was told I could put the 80 gig into my mac though if I open it and it is
the ide 2.5 inch drive
a usb2 card sounds intresting do they sell these at retail ,like compusa?
and it's not worth buying the card just for the burner when you've got

free).
can this be bought at a compusa?
I tried to buy a firewire cd burner but there are none available retail in
Syracuse NY that I could find

You're welcome.

Do you have the most current driver for the Iomega? And/or, is there a
driver for USB 1.x and not for USB 2.x? There could be an issue right
there if the newest driver doesn't support the previous protocol.

What programs are you trying for this?

The Toast Lite that came with my Glyph/Plextor burner is not a recording
program. I often track stereo live into the MIO (Firewire interface) and
Waveburner Pro, which results in a file ready for burning right from the
app. This is all under OS9.
> right now I have Spark ME but it can not find the cd/rw nor can my Itunes
Spark ME has to link to a burning program, as it doesn't directly
support CD burning. All I've done with it is experiment with some
editing, save a file, reboot into OS9, and then load that file into WB
Pro and burn from there.
Spark ME has an option to link to Toast/Jam, so maybe under OSX that'd
be a sensible option.

The regular Combo drive might be a better option unless you also want to
burn DVD's from iMovie or use the internal drive for DVD backup storage.
The SuperDrive isn't any faster for audio.

I'm the kind of person who waits until the little wrecks are cleared
from the highway before taking a particular route.

I've been messing with 10.2.1 and it works okay. The v. you have ought
to work. Have you looked at MacInTouch to see if there are any known
issues with USB and 10.2.8?
> 6 a dell
Can't help you there, as I'm totally ignorant.
