OK. I have recently got the RME Multiface and I love it. I can hear
stuff that I couldn't hear before yadda yadda. Now heres my dilema.
I started with Sonar and then have been trying Nuendo. I like Nuendo
but it isn't always that stable and I don't enjoy the user interface
as much as Sonar/Pro Tools. I think it is fancier, but I am more
comfortable with the other two. Cakewalk was always reliable but
lacks some of the features I like in nuendo.
I have been working for the past couple of months on a Pro Tools HD
system at the studio and I am really beginning to like Pro Tools (Not
so much the company but the software). I also like the idea of
getting more comfortable with it so I can know it well to be more
marketable in the future. Problem is that I can't use it without
thier hardware. I like the idea of the 002 however I am concerned
that if I were to go that route that I would have lesser quality
converters. Also it will not allow 96k recording through its ADAT if
I wanted to go with outboard converters. So thats where I am sitting.
I would like to go Pro Tools but don't know if I want to buy thier
gear. Any opinions would be welcome. Thanks
