Behringer Europort MPA40BT-Pro and ULM wireless system

Hi Group,

I am having a look at this system for use with a small open air audience and would value an feedback on the system.

The system seems to be portable and has sufficient power based on the specs but I would like any feedback on the ULM wireless mic system and how compatible it is and interference issues especially from cordless.

Also is there any other microphone system that is compatible that supports a lapel or headset microphone as opposed to the handhelds listed as companion microphones

Generally any lapel or headset mic can be rewired to suit any
brand/range of transmitter.

I have never used any of the Behringer wireless and I am very suspicious of
any wireless systems for reliability.

But, there really is no compatibility between wireless packs between different
manufacturers. You can put a Shure pack and a Sennheiser receiver on the same
frequency and you'll get sound, but it won't sound right because the companding
schemes they use aren't the same.

So buy whatever wireless pack you like, THEN get the receiver for that pack,
and then if you want a headset or a lav mike that plugs into that pack, buy
that and have the manufacturer put whatever connector the pack uses on it.

Most of the manufacturers of quality lav and headset microphones
will put whatever connector you want on them for whatever wireless packs you
want. Unfortunately buying a Countryman mike will cost you probably more than
the Behringer wireless system will, but it'll sound good and not pop so easily.

By "pack" let me clarify that I mean the wireless transmitter. Signal goes
from the microphone that is plugged into the pack, from the pack to the
receiver. Compatibility between the pack and the receiver is critical,
compatibility from the microphone to the pack is easy.

I'm pretty sure the OP meant actual mic to fit onto a bodypack
transmitter, as pretty much everybody is aware that TX and RX components
nearly exclusively do need to be from the same series from the same
manufacturer. Not only companding but squelch systems, various
sub-coding schemes, and more lately whole digital transmission schemes.
Most are sold as pairs, separates being mainly for replacement purposes.

Suspicious of reliability? Jeepers, tell that to the thousands of acts
who use such systems daily with few problems !

Every day I tell it to people who use them daily with few problems. Because...
they just haven't had a bad one yet. They will.

2.4GHz stuff is worse than VHF cos it will not penetrate through human bodies.
