BASIC QUESTION ON STEREO RECORDING

I have two mics recording one guitar going into a behringer mixer,
into the stereo input of SB Live card and then cakewalk home studio to
record. For basic stereo recording, should i pan from the mixer, or is
there a way to pan the right and left signals separately in cakewalk?

Are you going out of the tape output of the mixer? Pan the left mic hard
left and the same with the right. Create a stereo file and record it. Or
you can probably set track 1 to record from the left side and track 2 to
record from the right side of your SB Live.
