Hi all,
I have a joemeek VQ1 or something, the little one that slots into the
coputer. I have conected that to a Behringer mixing console, a small one. I
plan to plug in a condenser mic into the joemeek. The JM goes via the
Behringer to the soundcard. Do I need 48v on both
the joemeek and Behringer??

No, you only need 48V supplied by the device that connects to the
microphone.

No. The 48V goes to the microphone, so turn that on in the unit where
you're connecting the mic. You'll plug the output of the VQ1 into a
LINE (not mic) input of the mixer, and there's no phantom power on the
line inputs so you won't blow it up even if you have the mixer's
phantom power on. At least there's not SUPPOSED to be any phantom
voltage on the line inputs, but then this is a Behringer. You never
can tell.

ok thanks everyone!!
I do use a line input for the Behringer. I have speakers connected to it as
well. If I do bypass where do I do that? (can't see a button anywhere) and
if I do, I won't be able to hear anything, yes? (sorry for stupid
questions )

You don't do it with a button, you do it with your fingers. Unplug
everything. Plug the microphone into the Meek (that's a mike preamp,
right?). Plug the output of the Meek into the computer's soundcard.
Plug the output of the soundcard into Behringer. Plug the output of
the Behringer into the speakers.

Or better yet, you could plug the output of the soundcard directly into
the speakers, and throw the Behringer in the recycling bin. In either
case, you shouldn't need the mixer involved on the way into the
computer. On the way out, it only serves as an excessively and
needlessly complicated volume control.
