Just wondering, I purchased the MOTU 896 a while ago and it's great. But, I
was reading an article about the 828 the other day and how it said that you
can set levels and monitor incoming analog signals with the CueMix Console.

I'm using PC and have NEVER found this. Am i supposed to see this? The 896
manual is quite vague when describing the whole CueMix thing. I figured it
was just a hardware feature, which only refers to the zero-latency
monitoring of any stereo input pair.

So what's the deal? AM i supposed to be able to see an elegant software
mixing console for fine gain tweaking and such? The only window i have
access to through my PC is the "MOTU firewire Audio Console" which is only
for sample rate, programmable meter settings, etc. (no mixer console).

Thanks for any help,

mike

Well, by MOTU's site the CueMixDSP software comes with the 896HD, but I
don't know if it came with the older 896 or not and the site doesn't say so.
But it should be on your drivers disk. However, don't look for anything
other than what an analog console would do for you. This isn't recording
software, but it does allow you to shunt the analog ins back through the
analog outs before it hits the converters so you can setup headphone mixes
and mains and such. MOTU doesn't seem to have the software downloadable,
however, so if you don't have it, call the vendor you purchased from.
