3m 23 8 track

hi does anyone out there know where i might be able to find a remote control for a 3m 23 8 track? also if you have any experience with using one of these machines id love to hear from you

That would be a model M23, the first of the Iso-Loop recorders, and it was
a bit cantankerous but being a synchronous motor design there isn't a lot of
control electronic stuff to go wrong. There are a lot of those machines out
there.

I believe that Matt Allen in Nashville is the go-to guy for 3M parts and he
might know someone with a remote.

The remote is really just a box of switches with no electronics inside, it
would not be a hard thing to build yourself. Lots of studios built custom
remote controls if only so they could mount the machine remotes into the
console.
