Hi guys,
Up until now I have only needed 2 channels of I/O for my DAW (Mac G4,
Digital Performer), but I am about to get a drum machine with 8
outputs.
Currently I am using a Metric Halo ULN-2 firewire interface, which is
doing a good job for vocals. However I previously owned an Apogee
Minime and noticed that the line inputs on that unit were more
flattering for recording synth tracks than the ULN-2.
Now I would like to add more line inputs to accomodate this drum
machine and my other synths, and am wondering what unit in a
reasonable price range for a home studio would be most flattering, ie
take a bit of the harshness off the synths?
A used Motu 828 would be very affordable, but not sure if it would be
the best choice sonically.
Any other suggestions?
