Help! My Fostex D2424LV recorder will not power up. Yesterday, it was
working OK. It has been good for 2 months. Today, when I push the
power switch, I hear the fan and other internal sounds working, but
the display does not light up. I have plugged the unit directly into
the wall, bypassing the power conditioner strip. Maybe I turned the
power off improperly yesterday (?). That's the only possibility I can
think of. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Mike

Is the display cable securely connected to the front of the unit? Are you
using an extension cable for it? Is the cable damaged at all? (did a heavy
object roll over the cable or did a pet or varmit chew through part of the
cable? )
With the power off, disconnect the remote cable, wait 30 seconds or more and
then reconnect it and power the unit up again.
It's possible that the remote display died or one of the voltage sections of
the power supply died. If you have to return it for repair don't start off
by telling them that it wont power up, tell them that it powers up but the
remote display appears to be dead.
Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

Mike, also make absolutely certain that the drive is firmly seated and the
key lock is used. I had the exact problem when I first got mine. I had
pulled out the drive and put it back in, but it would not power up. After
about 15 minutes, I figured it out. I wish you the best of luck. Keep us
in the loop.

Glen, Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it's still not working.
Maybe Fostex will help me out.
