View Full Version : Audio over Ethernet and Mixer solutions?

Hello,

I'm quite lost with all of audio over ethernet and I ask for some advice.

I have various audio sources, mainly microphones and some .wavs played in a computer, and various speakers and a audio switch matrix to select in which speaker listen the one of the audio source.
This switch matrix is controlled by sending UDP messages to it, specifically we use the VP 8x8AK Kramer matrix:

These audio source comes from a computer, we use the line-out jack.

Now out requirements have grow and we need to listen in a speaker a mix of several audio sources and these sources to be selected by sending messages to the device.
For example:
I have 6 microphones (MIC1...6) and 6 speakers (SP1...6)
* I want to configure this "magic" device to mix MIC1, 2 and 4 to the SP1 and MIC3 to the SP2
* After a while configure to liste MIC1 to SP2 and MIC3 and 4 to SP1.

Our actual solution has nothing about audio over ethernet, but I've thought to give the flexibility to the system (any combination of inputs to one output) the solution will be around AoE and by the way reduce the cable layout.

Could you give an advice about which device could to switch and mix any audio inputs to any output? And BTW with a few cable layout?

Thank you,
Fernando
