I'd like to get some opinions of the ubiquitously advertised Sonos home sou=
nd systems. Good starter system, or just well-marketed rubbish? I don't cur=
rently own any audiophile equipment but am planning on putting in some spea=
kers around the home and wanted to get a sense of the options available.
Thanks in advance!

I would be interested as well. My son-in-law ordered a system and I
know nothing about it. I think his interest was that it is wireless. I
wonder if it sound good.

When you think about it, a good wireless speaker has to contain a good
wifi receiver, a good DAC (admittedly, not a tall order these days), a
good amplifier, a decent power supply to feed the last 3 items, and
of course a good speaker assembly itself. It's doing five things,
hopefully doing all of them well, while shake-rattle-and-rolling! Will
this obviate the need for wires sprawling across the premises? Only if
there is an electricity outlet near each of these units. I'm skeptical
