Hi y'all:

I thought that some application GEC notes on KT77 and KT88 amplifiers
and on preamnlifiers were worth saving. So I did some scans and put them
into dropbox.

The following links can be accessed publicly. There are 8 files for this
one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14995214/GEC_amplifier_circuits_for_KT77_01.jpg

16 files for this one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14995214/GEC_amplifier_circuits_for_KT77_01.jpg

and 18 files for the last one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14995214/GEC_amplifier_circuits_for_KT77_01.jpg

For downloading you just change ...01.jpg for ...02.jpg and so on.
I'm too lazy to place all the individual links here.

Just let me know if you can use it.

Kind regards, Eike

The scans are very nice but they are so large they take Eternity to
download, and I would think they'd be better if reduced to B&W .gif
form maybe 200kB max to maintain full readablity.

That may happen later on or not at all, Pat. I cannot promise anything.
Scanning B&W with originals so yellowish-brownish of various hue and
tint due to the age and bad paper takes considerable effort and time.
I'm short of time, that's why I made color scans.

Always interesting to read about the old stuff, but...

.... and this link remains a mystery, even if KT77 is replaced by all the
other KTxx I know of.(KT2, 21, 32, 33, 33C, 36, 41, 55, 63, 66, 67 & 90)

Please Eike, if you don't mind shed some light on this mysterious misery.

How can these be different docs when the three links are identical?

[snipped reasonable complaints about missing links]

I'm really sorry. I must have been asleep.
Here are the correct links. Just change 01 for 02, 03, 04 and so on.

count up to 16 for this link
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14995214/GEC_amplifier_circuits_for_KT88_01.jpg

and up to 18 for this link
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14995214/GEC_audio-frequency-preamplifiers_01.jpg

Kind regards, Eike

That worked fine! Thanks a lot.

Great post. Made me dig out my old blue cover booklet:

The M-O Valve Co. Ltd. London, England.
Genealex 'Audio Amplifiers' March, 1979

(Dist in the USA by EEV, Inc 7 Westchester Plaza, Elmsford, NY 10523)

I got it when I scored a shineola load of tubes for almost - nothing..

Back then, 66/77/88's came with neat Lion screening
and if you were lucky, a chart of how THAT tube tested.

When it all ended, 88's could be bought at $8 USA ea
per 100. When I bought my lot, 66/77/88's were ALL
$5 ea per 100. People want to pay $20 now for the box.

Other sell offs:

When Celestion and Marshall designed the 'PowerCell' line
of cabs, they had no idea the public wouldn't buy 1-12"
cabs the size of 4-12" ones, esp with ugly future MoJo
horn type looks. FEW of the cabs were made, but a few
of the raw speakers were. I bought a pallet of them for
$30 ea (thanks Steve). Huge magnet, 3" VC, 200 watts
of GUITAR Celestion. WHY they don't make this today?

When Marshall designed those 400 watt bass amps with
8 6550's, no one wanted them. I found a few, bought
them for less then the power tubes costs. What is there
behind the boxes, but about 15 sets of PT/OTs, unused.

Cost...$10 per transformer.. (again, thanks Steve)

Today, you can't SHIP them for that..

Alas, today..such deals are far gone...

Can you show me a dream..?
Can you show me one that's better then mine...
Can you stand it in the cold light of day..?

What did you scan that thing on? The files are huge!!

I don't mean to be ungrateful for the work but 1) most of these are
available in the Audio Amateur book release from clean unyellowed
prints and 2) I never bother with scans that aren't in the form of a
complete .pdf volume anymore (DjViu was nice but appears dead now.)
