Yes, and have used it daily for 2 years. It's been rock solid, however I don't
use its converters so I can't really comment on its sound. The flexibility of
routing is incredible.

I've got a more specific question. Is the AD conversion on this newer
unit yet comparable to some of the value outboard units from Lucid,
Benchmark, etc.?

No, the 2408 mkII has been out for a while, as well as the 828 mkI, but the
828 mkII is very much a new product. Scott is confused.

i'm going to go out on a limb (how long the limb is or if it's going
to crack i don't know) but i don't think the lucid stuff sounds so
hot.

D'oh!
Sorry, reading comprehension error. It's the 2408 mkII I've been using for 2
years. Too many things with numbers around here.

Why in the world would you suspect that it might be comprarable to
devices that cost more than twice its price?

On the other hand, once you get above the junk level, the differences
in converters is pretty subtle - that doesn't mean you can't hear it,
but it means that you might want to spend your money elsewhere if
you're just building up a studio.
