alt.music.home-studio is now set up and working. There is already some
traffic there but we need more people. There is an information page for
the group here (not much on it yet):
http://www.unmusic.co.uk/amh-s.html
You can also take a look at the group via google groups.
If the group seems like something that you would be interested in,
request that your news server carry it (if it isn't already there) and
subscribe.
Once you're there, just pop up a quick hello message.
If anyone has any questions regarding the group, feel free to email me
or reply to this thread.
Charter
The group is for the discussion of issues relating to home studio based
or other amateur audio recording or processing for musicians. The
newsgroup is un moderated. Spam is not allowed. Off-topic posts are
discouraged but permitted if they have some interest to the majority of
subscribers. Any off-topic posts must have "OT:" (without the quotes) or
a similar indication present in the subject field. Binaries are not
permitted but posting links to online audio files of interest to other
users of the group would be permitted and encouraged. Other types of
hobbyist, amateur or semi professional audio discussion that is not
directly related to related to the central topic of of the newsgroup is
also tolerated to some extent but if there is a more appropriate
newsgroup for the discussion of a subject, this can pointed out to the
poster.

Haven't found a single server that carries it yet. This may take a while, I
fear.
