I'm going to be playing Keyboard 2 in Seussical this August, and it
needs (as another person put it) "a metric ton of patches". Probably
around 50 - I'm not counting.
I'm planning on doing this with various VSTi plugins in Sonar X1. Most
of them are doable, the others I'll either do without or fake (Fred
Newman, anyone?)
Is there a way to use program changes to switch between "active"
tracks? It seems that whatever track is selected picks up the MIDI
data, but I'd rather not use my mouse all the time. Also, I'm thinking
of using 2 keyboards, and I'm not sure how that would work.
I'm using ProChannel and some effects to get the right sound (pretty
liberally actually - I don't care HOW I get the sound, as long as it's
there. So I really just need a way to quickly switch between sounds
with one or two buttons. Can keyboard shortcuts do this? FYI, I'm
using multiple synths, so I can't just program changes into them.
