Bob Pease apparently died in an auto accident on the way back from Jim
Williams' funeral, in a horrible bit of irony.

Wow. That sucks. Talk about two guys who loved what they were doing.

That's a sad thing to hear. I was an acquaintance of Mr Pease, and
repeatedly urged him to hire me as a technical writer. He wasn't a
particularly good writer himself, but he had something worth saying, and
wrote well enough to make his books worth reading.

Bob Pease was one of those rare "experts" who actually knew what he was
talking about, who knew that "understanding" was more important than
numbers. Unfortunately, I could never convince him of the need for
National's documentation to come up to that level.

The given link is currently invalid. This one should be more useful.

It is a different Jim Williams than Audio Upgrades. Here is one link to
give some history:

Double bummer. I didn't know either of these folks
personally, but I remember talking with Jim Williams a
couple of years when he has an Audio Upgrades booth at AES.
A few years back at a San Francisco AES conference, Bob did
a quickie analog design session that I attended. He was a
joy to listen to, and I learned a thing or two, too.

Truly two great losses for the semiconductor and audio
industry.

Oops - Mistaken identity, but sounds like another valuable
character.

This is a different Jim Williams from the Audio Upgrades guy, right?
