View Full Version : Cable Covering

At a meeting recently, I noticed a power cord going across
the carpet that looked like it was covered by a cloth strip
with Velcro to keep it from being a tripping hazard. It got
pulled up and disappeared before I could ask what that stuff
was. Seems like it would be handy to have some in my kit for
when I need to run cables over carpet as a clean and
re-usable replacement for gaffer tape.

Anyone know what it is, what it's called, where to get it,
and whether it's too expensive to be asking about? Maybe
rather than pointing me to the live sound or theater
newsgroup, someone who frequents one of those groups could
just be helpful and tell me (or ask for me)??

That looks interesting. It ain't cheap but neither is it outrageous, if
it holds up.

It's probably more useful for theater and convention work
than bands-in-bars work since it will only stick to carpet,
not a wood or linoleum floor. But if you can use it enough,
it's cheaper than gaffer tape since you don't have to throw
it away.

Hey, I'm cheap, but I don't save tape I've pulled up off the
floor. <g>

Yeah. I only two two shows/yr for which it'd be handy. But it sure would
be handy for those!

I can't ever get it back up in any shape for reuse. <g>
