Just asking about this "lo-fi" box:

I've lost the 9 V AC power box. This kind on boxes you can find millions
on this world, but it is a little strange the alternative voltage. Do
this Ultragain will need exactly the alternative current and if, why? Do
the Ultragain use the alternative current to build the high anode
voltage and 48 V phantom voltage from the AC? What will happen if I
serve DC 9 V for the Ultragain?

It will not work on 9VDC, and depending on how they did the step-up it
may damage it.

Just use a 9VAC wall wart. Or get a 6VDC one and take the diode out.
