1. Get a cheap Bud metal box. Put four XLR connectors on the side. Each
of the transformers is connected between pins 2 and 3 of the input XLR and
pins 2 and 3 of the output XLR. All the Pin 1s are connected together.
Put a 620 ohm shunt resistor between pins 2 and 3 of the output if you are
not driving a 600 ohm load. If you're in the UK, even Maplin will have
what you need.
2. This is not necessary to drive an unbalanced output. You can do that
with a simple cable. Directions are on the Rane website.
3. This will not make your console sound like a Neve. Anybody who claims
it will should be ashamed of themselves.
