I was able to buy some good stuff myself at a recent shopping
expedition.

A local shopping mall on the edge of being shuttered, but still
having its anchor stores running until their leases run out, was the
site of advance voting so I voted. Walking upstairs, I noticed that
the top floors were being cleaned out so I walked in and found in one
of the spaces formerly a car audio place the workers clearing out. I
found they are converting these spaces to a wholesale vendor's display
area and asked of there was any old merchandise left. Long story
short, I bought an AudioControl RTA with mics for twenty bucks and a
pile of cable of various types for just over copper scrap value. I
also got a very nice 0-20 volt, twenty amp DC supply from a brand I'd
never heard of (Power Designs) for fifteen bucks. But the best
part....rooting around..there was a box of "Old car radios" they were
going to throw out. There was a lot of trash but there were two 70s
analog Motorolas and a Delco Wonderbar, each of which should bring
something on eBay. I also got several car speakers in the old display
which will make nice test speakers or perfect for an 80s resto like a
F-body or five liter Mustang.

I also bagged an EV paging mic that is more or less the descendent
of the famous Green Bullet. The CBers love these.

Shhhh!!!! I'm Listening to Reason!

What a schmuck. You should have told them what these 'treasures' were
worth and paid a fair price for them.
