The recording Ben Maas and I made (clarinet, guitar, bass, drum) in my
garage is now official. The CDs have arrived and a website is up. This
morning, Ben suggested some of you may want to listen to one minute samples
of each track at

I'll suffer through criticisms of the music; you can harangue Ben about the
engineering and mastering...except that he did the best he could with my
gear (two KSM44s, two KM184s, a Digi 001, and a Grace V3 preamp). I suppose
we'll just have to think of it as "closure".
It really owes a lot to some of you guys, though. You provided us a wealth
of experience and suggestions.

Nice ... as far as an mp3 can convey, but are the guitar
and drums hard left & right from panning, or were they really
that wide on either side of a stereo pair? I would feel
more comfortable if they spread in toward the middle a bit more.
But they and the bass support the clarinet well without getting
in the way.

It was Left- Center Right summing... We didn't end up using a stereo pair
for the entire ensemble for this recording... Instead it was 4 mics on 4
players (KM 184s on the bass and drums and KSM-44s on the Guitar and
Clarinet)

Enjoyable--what kind of 'verb on the clarinet?
Ambience on the bass seems gated but that might well be the MP3 artifacts.

Sequoia/Samplitude Room Simulator... No verb on the bass. Most is on the
clarinet, some on drums and guitar (not much, though).
