Looking to get some new monitors and was wondering how these were.
Gentleman has a pair for $800, wondering if it is worth it or if I
should go with something else.

Hi Christian, if you look for a perfect speaker, trie the SA200. In rooms up to 30qm you'll hear en excellent authentic speaker. Caution:bad records will sound so. In rooms more than 30qm in may be perhaps possilble, that you miss the ultimate bass-power and pression (...).

I have a pair (bought MUCH cheaper than $800 used) - they're great. No
fatigue for extended use, and I really like they way they give
essentially the same balance at medium and higher listening levels.
Much easier to monitor at safe levels and get reliable results.

I really liked the whole Spendor line (except for the bigger three-way
system they sold), and I was very upset when they dropped production of
the studio monitors. They really never had time to get a toehold in the
US market before they were pulled, but they were extremely clean sounding
and very good deals.

No, I'm not a big fan of subwoofers for the most part. They're a lot of work
to integrate properly. It can be done, but it can be a long struggle.

Nobody. Spendor pulled out of the studio monitor market two years or so
ago. Which is a real shame.

Having Spendor Surround speakers in the TV room and a pair of Spendor100's on
the old McIntosh 60's for phono listening, you've piqued my interest...I gotta
hear these!
