In my opinion the best designs out there are the Marantz 8B, the
McIntosh MA230's power section, and the Acrosound designs offered for
the TO-300 and TO-350 output transformers, that is if one leaves out
unconventional designs like the McIntosh Unity Coupled and the
Circlotron.
If one wants a triode amplifier the Brook is the unit to copy. The
proviso here is Brook made their own transformers and they are
sufficiently rare and valuable no one is going to tear one down.
