Pamphonic 600V amplifier

Whilst clearing out our village hall we found a Pamphonic 600V amplifier lurking in a forgotten cupboard. Can anyone tell me anything about them please? How old they are and who Pamphonic were as we've never heard of them. No-one involved with the hall now has any memory of when this was acquired or what it was used for. Any info would be really welcome. Thanks!

Wow! Thank you both so much, especially to flipper for all your wonderful info and links, I shall go and have a really good read through them all and see if I can out more, then the hall can decide what they want to do with this item as it's no longer used for music there. You've saved it from being sent to the local tip, that's a certainty! I very much appreciate your replies.
