hi all,
I am looking for freeware de-esser plugins dx/vst. Do you know any? Also I
read quite a few good reviews about the waves de-esser, so if you know that
one how would you rate it?
thanks.

Do you have a compressor/limiter plugin with sidechain input? EQ plugin?
If so there's your de-esser.

dbAudioware has a nice de-esser. It's not free, but it's good and it's
not expensive. Check out Dave Brown's site and try out a demo and see if
you like it:

Look for the digital fishphones 'Fish Fillets' package. It includes a De-esser
named Spitfish.

I'll fourth it & go the extra mile by saying that Spitfish is the without a
doubt the SECOND best de-esser I've ever used, software OR hardware.
Get it, use it, love it.

Well, that one's kinda jinky, but it occasionally has uses on kick drum.
