View Full Version : What Does Scott Mean?

When I was back in LA, a couple of radio talk show hosts would play a
game called "What Did Jesse Jackson Say?" The hosts would play a clip
from one of Jesse's speeches featuring a mumbled phrase from Jackson,
and call-in guests would try to figure out the quote verbatim.

Watching Scott struggle to communicate over on the Chargers group, I
though we could play a similar game..."What Does Scott Mean?"

Here's this week's quote from Scott:

"If I was GM he'd be my safety valve, injury insurance spending most
of the games inactive ala Michael Bennett."

So...what did Scott mean?

You are exempt from this game, since you obviously know what you think
you meant,

Thanks for the compliment!

Because you're a funny dude, and we all need a good laugh.

Why would I do that?

By the way, perhaps you could email Jim Smith, the best audio setup
man in the biz, and tell him your thoughts on wireless routers. Be
sure to tell him that your system sounds like crap first.

Since Scott spoiled the first round, here's another:

"I suspect his leadership authority was tainted by his tipp-toe out

At first thought, I took it to mean his hyphen key broke as he attempted
to type 'tip-toe.'

Lessee: I suspect with just a look from a DB running out of bounds his
leadership authority was tainted by his tip-toe style.

Close, but the judges say no cigar.

For a change of pace, let's check out Scott on the Padres group:

It's a reference to American Graffiti 2.

Here's this week's gem:

When guys come up to just a few yards off a receiver and don't bother
to try and jam and basically just say I can run with you step for step
no matter what you do, you're slow.

So...what does Scott mean?

Almost. Scott wants the song "Short People" to appear on the next
version of Rock Band.

Of course, Randy Newman is bubblegum pop music.

I would think that somebody who can run with a receiver "step for step
no matter what you do" isn't "slow". I would think the slow corners
would tend to jam in an attempt to remove the receiver's speed
advantage.

I'm a football fan. Can you enlighten me on 2pid's deeper meaning?

to me, he is saying that the receiver is slow.his problem is that his

Some might say Newman is a wry and insightful observer of hypocrisy
and double standards. I can see where that description could overload
duh-Scottie's meager brain power and instigate yet another repetition

Well, he thought The Shins were bubblegum pop, which shows how little
he knows about music. Compared to the funeral dirges he calls
"progressive rock," I suppose they are. His idea of rock and roll is
rich British men glancing outside the windows of their mansions,
noticing it's raining and then reminiscing about the last book they
read.

Here's an interesting take on the unreliability of verbal
communication from the likes Witlessmongrel:

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
* * * *

Dog Body Language

Any dog owner will tell you that their four-legged family members
speak volumes with their bodies. Here are some typical signals dogs
use:

Face: Dogs will wrinkle or straighten their foreheads to show
confusion or determination.
Eyes: A dog’s eyes brighten when he looks at a creature he considers
friendly. When he is afraid, his pupils dilate and he shows the whites
of his eyes.
Lips, teeth and tongue: If your dog is happy or wants to play, he may
pull his lips back and show his teeth in what appears to be a smile.
This is a gesture that is reserved only for human/dog communication; a
dog will not do this with other dogs.
Ears: If a dog’s ears are raised, he is relaxed or listening. If they
are back, he might be signaling submission.
Tail: A recent study published in “Current Biology” shows that the way
a dog wags its tail indicates how he feels. If the tail wags more to
the right, it is a sign of positive feelings; left-side wagging
indicates negative feelings

Secret-Language-of-Dogs.aspx>

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
* * * *

Once again, I feel obliged to remind the group that trying to have a
human-style exchange with Witlessmongrel is pointless. If it's not the
uncontrolled yapping, it's the burying of key words that would render
the pooch's 'thoughts' comprehensible to humans.

The girl in the waiting room said they would change your life.

It would have been a different movie if they'd played "Comfortably Numb"
instead of the Shins.

Oddly enough, they seem to exist in real life, except for the benefiting

Too easy: 2pid wants the "D" to get the ball back with enough time to
score so that the booth can't challenge how much of the clock was to
easily ;-) burned in "OT" before the boneheaded official changes the
game to something else like Jai Alai. If the game is changed to
something else 2pid simply wants the ability to challenge this but to
not have the booth review his challenge because the booth is too
"prolific" ;-) in the things they review in 2pid's imbecilic opinion.

If you're going to pick 2pid gems make them harder than this. This one
actually almost made 2pid sound smart.

Isn't baseball the only game in which the defense has the ball?

Must be "defense puts the ball into play" or something, but I'd think
cricket does, too.

Come off it, old girl: we all know Pudge is the brains of your little operation.
Not much left in Buffoon's noggin after endless years of synaptically-frazzling
diet soda imbibement. And what little you had to start with has been
systematically scrubbed and reprogrammed through military MK-ULTRA mind control

Still smarting from all those shellackings, eh bumbling one?

I destroyed what little credibility you had posing as a journalist, repeatedly
pointed out your reeking hypocrisies and set in motion the chain of events that
led to your ouster from that rinky-dink publication you schlepped for and
subsequent relocation to Bumluck, TX.

Oh, the rich irony of your hubristic braggadocio antics (the FaceBook or MySpace
page and claims of 150,000 readers) that then spurred Arny and Bobo to launch
their offensive to 'take food off your table' was all deliciously exquisite.

But the icing on that cake was the seething BaBoon's futile attempt at seeking
revenge by thinking he'd gotten me fired from my job and then peeing himself
with glee about it on rao.

Yeah, it's no wonder you've turned into a bitter, old geezer faced with a

I would agree (although somewhat reluctantly [since RAO is full of
people {Scott, PLF, Bret, Lionel} who wouldn't otherwise has an active
audience for their nonsense.]) I was able to endure Scott's RAO posts
for a long time (by simply ignoring them [which wasn't easy since I

bothered me that the majority of the activity on RAO was good people
trying to deal with his bad behavior.
