View Full Version : need basic headphone amp

Looking to add a headphone amp in addition to a power amp/speaker
monitoring setup. This is for video editing so I don't need premium
components..just something reasonable with RCA connectors, one
headphone jack and volume control. Aside from all the multiple jack
studio headphone amps, is there something more suited to the task..w/o
being mega $$$?

Not really. You pay more for fewer features. Why not use a Telex splitter
box off the same amp you are running the speakers from?

That Samson C-Control looks like it would meet your needs. IT has a
few extra features, but I bet it's still very cheap and you'll probably
find it more handy than you thought. I wouldn't let anything made by
Samson into my studio, but you said you don't need premium quality. So
there you go.
