View Full Version : speaker-level multipin disconnect?

Anyone have any empirically-derived suggestions for a multipin quick
disconnect that will handle speaker level signals?

I've got a situation where I need to patch the outputs of 8+ channels
of amplification into installed speaker systems, & I need to do it
with a single, relatively compact connecter. Not enough room on the
wallplate for even a pair of NL-8's, so I was thinking of a VEAM VSC
19 pin connector.

Anyone ever use VEAM (i.e., socapex) for speaker level signals? Or
some similar multipin, like MASS or EDAC? Pros/cons of one versus the
other...or of this whole idea versus a more conventional approach?

Thanks.

soco are commonly used in large pa systems to eliminate dozens of indvidual
runs to flying clusters
I see no reason why it would not work for you
as long as you don't have anyone trying to tie a lighting mult into your
speaker feed
use female panel mount for the "hot' side and male for the cable / wall
plate connection

ALWAYS keep hot side inside
