Hi everyone, I'm new to this group.

I wonder how I set up my 01v to control Cubase SX via MIDI on my iMac.
I connect the devices using a Midisport 4x4 interface, with the 01v
MIDI out connected to the MIDISport in C. The 01v MIDI In goes to
MIDIsport out D.

What settings need i do in
a) The OS? I run OS 10.2
b) Cubase SX
c) The 01v

I'd like to be able to record audio through the 01v while I use the
01v to control the software faders of Cubase SX, is this possible?

Thanks in advance,
Johannes Oscarsson, Sweden

You might be better off asking this question on the Steinberg forums, or
calling Yamaha tech support.

see if you can find the HUI or whatever emulation for the 01v, I know
the 01V96R has HUI emulation and that's what you use in Cubase SX.
go cubase.net and ask for control surface maybe someone there can help
more.

Actually, they support many controllers, including HUI, Mackie Control, etc.
They still offer support... especially now that Houston is all but dead.

Did you even try to look it up in the Cubase manual? It's page 286 in
the pdf copy I have. I don't have the program, so I can't help you
there, but the explanation looks real simple. I do have one question:
why do you go out of port D, but into port C? Just use the same port -
it makes for easier setup.
