If you're expecting a major reduction in noise you probably won't get it.
At best you may be talking about less than 6 dB and it's probably just as
likely that there's something around the house you could turn off that would
drop your noise levels that far when you record. Now if you're not
recording with mics, perhaps that won't help, in which case you may notice a
little benefit.
It's pretty hard to figure out whether a piece of equipment is going to help
someone else or not without having been to the location. I'd certainly look
at purchasing it from some place where I could return it if my conjecture
wasn't correct. It's not like buying a mic unheard, where it's possible
that it's inclusion in the mic closet will be an advantage somewhere down
the line. In this case, if you don't notice any difference (and it will be
hard to do so) you'll just be out money.
Having said that, if you use a Strat you may find it amazing to NOT hear
it's noisy single coil pickups when you play.
