Gee, Al, that's the sweetest sound, when the plates grow dull red,
shading over to bright orange. It's just dull engineers who worry
about MTBF. The ultrafidelista run 'em high and hot.

Seriously, some of the best balanced sound I ever heard came out of
Svetlana SV572-3 and -10, whose *natural* state of operation is white-
hot.
