Hi...Does any one know a source for the 45 pin connector that is used
on these console? New or used is OK. Also I would be interested in a
copy of the instruction book/manual for this also.
Thanks for any info

Randy Blevins http://www.blevinsaudio.com/main.htm usually has them, and
manuals, too. He's one of the well established MCI experts. He's very
knowledgeable and helpful, but not cheap.

If it's the same multi-pin connector that the later MCI consoles used
(pins, blue fibreglass body), it's an Amphenol part and Connector World
Supply in Seattle should be able to get one. You may have to get them a
photo so they can identify it if you don't have the numbers off of one.

The common ones are 30 pins. 8 pairs and a few spares. I'm not sure I've
ever seen a 45 pin one. Never looked at the back of a 2000 series MCI
console.

Not at all a hazard, a feature, a precursor for a later Nakamichi product.

I thought only the model intended for use with dragons got the recall
notice.

The part numbers were the same excerpt for two transposed digits. The
case was the same shape. Hilarity ensued.
