Hello audi.pro, i bought an M-audio 61es usb midi controller keyboard
on a street market for 10 euros and want to test it. the lights go on
when i plug it into my computer usb hub, it is recognized by Windows
and shows up in some lists on the only software i currently have
installed on this com, Samplitude. I normally use Cubase but don't
have access now. Can someone please help me test this keyboard using
Samplitude, what do i need to do to get sound? thanks,
-Jack

it is strictly a controller and has no sounds in it. All you need to
do is test it to see that midi is transmitting. Anything that receives
midi should show you that. You can plug it into anything midi and if
the lights start flashing or sound comes out or anything, then it is
transmitting midi. If it is doing that, you can take a pretty good
guess that it is transmitting it correctly. The issue with those
boards is usually the sensors under the keys. If they work, you
usually golden.

I'd suggest using Samplitude's help file to let you know how to add virtual
instruments within the program.
