Here's a question that may discombobulate some of you republican loyalists.

It's well known that your highest priority for government is that taxes be
lowered. You believe that having money in your pocket is the highest form of
freedom known to man. You folks loathe taxation because so much of YOUR money
goes to pay for welfare for THEM.

Now here's the conundrum: Has it crossed any of your tiny little minds that
the sad condition of America's transportation infrastructure is the direct
result of underfunded governments? You scrimp and save to buy the nicest car
you can find, then you have to drive it over crumbling roads and bridges.
Tires, suspensions, windshields, steering systems, and even sheet metal pay
the price. Is this a good tradeoff? How about all the time spent idling in
traffic jams because of emergency repair work?

I'm sure the "official" ****uplican propaganda lays the blame for this problem
on the "liberals". But I'd like to hear you folks rationalize it anyway.

Only governments can provide road networks.
However,having one class of citizenry totally support the lives and
lifestyles
of another class of citizenry is not necessary.
But providing opportunities such as education is worthwhile

Do I? I've speculated he works at Qualcomm based on faint hints he's dropped.
Are you confirming my guess? If so, this is the first direct confirmation from
anybody. However, it didn't come from Witless himself, so my statement stands.

And if you think I know what he does, even generally, you're tripping again. I
am quite certain he doesn't work in sales, marketing, documentation, tech
support, or any other department that requires adequate communication skills.

My guess is that George is a major in a US Army field artillery

Oh, so what 2pid wants is a political commissar. Why does he insist on

The political commissar held military rank equaling that of the unit
commander to whom he was attached, moreover, the commissar also had
the military authority to countermand the unit commander’s orders when
required.

In looking at this I can see why 2pid would like it. You get to make
decisions based on politics and not tactical or strategic need. For
someone with no training or experience in either that would be ideal.

Well, it's a long and sorry story George, but good triumphed in the end.

In the middle of last year the IP address block to which I'm assigned
was put on a usenet spam block list which meant my posts to groups
in the rec. alt. comp. etc hierarchies didn't propagate beyond the UK.

I was thus denied my rights as a free citizen to make inane comments on
RAO concerning political issues about which I am ignorant and
politicians I have never heard of.
Up with this One will not put.

Being the eggthpurt hacker that one is I overcame this by simply moving
house, getting a new phone line, buying a shiny new laptop and signing
up with a decent news service.

So here one is again, just like old times.

The house move was particularly successful, the new listening room
(8 x 12 x 16) is a vast improvement on the L shaped closet previously
inhabited, room to get the speakers out from the walls and let them
breathe. No more bass overload.
