Probably celebrating a long Labor Day weekend! Now listening: The People
United Will Never Be Defeated! by Frederic Rzewski.

How will you musically commemorate the holiday?

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm going to be spending a lot of time
listening. I'm going to have the house to myself (my wife is going to
visit her mother for the long weekend) so it's just me and the dog. And
he likes everything I play!

On Saturday evening I am having a number of friends over who happen to
be big blues fans, so Saturday will be blues (and brews) night. I'll
probably stick to the theme and fire up the smoker for some real
barbeque, and I've got a keg of nice pale ale I brewed last month just
waiting to be tapped.

I do have a number of LPs that I've recently acquired that I need to
listen to as well. I'm a member of the Audio Fidelity club and I really
haven't listened to the live Cat Stevens, Jethro Tull or J. Geils LPs
that I've received in the last number of months. Probably give those a
proper listen over the weekend.

It's going to be fun, that's for sure!

Saturday sounds like fun! This weekend I'll hear a recital by a local
opera pro and his many singer friends and watch a rough cut of a Debussy
documentary video.

Now listening: deezer.com. It says it's legal.

I found out I have the weekend off (I was supposed to work).

Now listening: an NCO "correcting" a young soldier.

Sympathies. I had a real gear-evaluation session yesterday for the first
time in a long while. Anyone else think the Rega Mira is a tad forward?

I'm using a Rega Brio 3 right now and I don't think it's forward, but
it does tend to gloss over some of the detail. For $650, however, it's
still a great liitle amp.

Speaker choice (horn tweeters) may exaggerate the impression. An old NAD
integrated seems more neutral at the moment.
