View Full Version : What to do when TG77 battery runs out?

Hi:

I've got a TG77 synth along with a KX8 MIDI keyboard [to control the
TG77] and a set of speakers. They are all working fine right now. But
what do I do when the TG77 battery runs out? I won't be able to find
the type of battery the TG77 uses anymore because the TG77 has long
been discontinued.

Any assistance on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Stop worrying about it and just use it - it's probaly good for decades.

When the battery does finally run out, then get a new battery and replace
it.

Any service workshop should be able to source and fit the correct battery.
If they do it while powered up, you won't lose any data (they SHOULD know
how to do this).

The '5 years' is arbitrary. I have DX7s and a KX88 over 20 years old still
happy with their original batteries.

However you should always back up your patches and sounds.

That's what I mean by a sysex dump. Put all the info into the sequencer
portion of a DAW. It'll be right there for upload if needed.

You'll have to kill yourself.
