I'm leaving for awhile. I just don't have the time to keep up with this
group any longer, at least for now. I'm very busy trying to make our
Draconian budget cuts affect students as little as possible. It's going
to be very bad.
Be well, everyone.

Understandable.
I often take extended leave from RAO simply because my life gets way too
full to participate. I really do enjoy it when I have the time to
participate, but sometimes that is not possible.
All the best of luck dealing with all of those budget cuts. I certainly
know the feeling, and I'm currently doing my best to deliver what I can
on a shoestring budget.

Take care, Jenn.
I'll be having to do the same very soon myself at least until I get
situated.

Jenn, you are in my thoughts during this difficult period. I look
back on the dinner we had last December with fond memories.

There's an old saying about salespeople vs. engineers:
"Engineers know more and more about less and less, so that they end up
know everything about nothing. Salespeople know less and less about
more and more, so they end up knowing nothing about everything."
Perhaps this could be adapted to teachers:
"Politicians spend less and less on more and more, so they end up
spending nothing on everything. Teachers do more and more with less
and less, so they end up doing everything with nothing."

I just turned 59, I still remember all of the great high school
teachers
I had, and I always remember them with a whole lot of gratitude and
respect.
Thanks to P.M Wilson, Ms Upthegrove (Wheeler), Mr, Kanagy, Mr.
McNelis and most of all to the legendary Charles Sickafus,
my beloved band and orchestra teacher. I can still see the sweat
rolling off his brow,
and I remember his silly sayings,
his love for music and performance, all the extra hours of work,
