In 1990, Witlessmongrel hadn't yet found an effective medication, so he
wasn't allowed to own anything that had to be plugged in. Hence, no
stereo, no toaster, no knife sharpener, and no battery charger.

Things are better for Scottie now, fortunately. He's able to walk by
appliances and resist the urge to chew through the cords.
