"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine
flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And
I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an
interesting coincidence."

Thank you for bringing this important thought to our attention. I think we
can safely rely on the obvious conclusion: Democratic Presidents are
swine-lovers.

It's hard to admit, but 2pid is right: the borders have gone to hell
in the last 120 days and Obama has released swine flu. The Dems are
indeed to blame for everything.

I have no idea why you say that, but shouldn't we blame WIN on Nixon?
He's the one who ordered wage and price controls.

Both the swine flu threat and WIN were during the Ford administration
despite what Bachmann said.

Ohhhhh. Still, the symmetry of Democratic Presidents being the harbingers
of plague is powerful stuff. Can't we pretend he was right?

There's always Woodrow Wilson for the 1918 pandemic.

Certainly, he was one of the key factors
in allowing for the spread of AIDS.

By allowing Reagan to win the election. Of course, that means we should
really blame Khomeini.

OK, Rep. Michele Bachmann was wrong in correlating Democratic control
of the White House and swine flu outbreaks in the United States. So
whom are we to blame then? I suggest the Pittsburgh Steelers. Did they
not win the Super Bowl in both 1976 and 2009? That just happens to
coincide with the last two outbreaks. Coincidence? I do not know, but
I implore Rep. Bachmann to investigate the Steelers to find out if
they are behind this and while she is at it if they are pro-America or
anti-America. It also occurs to me that I have never seen QB Ben
Roethlisberger's birth certificate. How do we know this guy is an
American? I mean, his moniker, Big Ben, is derived from a European
landmark, for crying out loud. Rep. Bachmann, your country needs you
to get to the bottom of this because, let's face it, no one else
will.

And this is the sad state the GOP finds itself in. Bachmann and Palin
are the 'future' of the party. LOL!
Specter is the smart one. Other republican moderates, like Jim Ramstad
here, have simply chosen to retire.
