View Full Version : need preamp advice, plz
I want to hook up my old Technics turntable to my Bose and was told to
just get a preamp from Radio Shack. My local RS doesn't even stock
'em. I see that there are myriad preamps on the market, ranging in
price from cheapos to well over a hundred bucks. What should I buy?
How much should I spend to get the right thing? Any recs?
I just wanna get those old LPs goin' again.
Thanks.

Bose? The boombox? You won't need the highest quality, but at a minimum
be sure the preamp has a ground wire connection.
The cheapest I've heard was the NAD, which would be more than good
enough but maybe too expensive for your system.
If space isn't a consideration and you don't mind throwing away the
losers, you could try random garage sale receivers.
