View Full Version : Clarion VRX485vd bypass parking brake
i have a 2004 Ford Explorer and i was wonder how could i bypass the
parking brake so i can watch movies? i have read that hooking it up to
the ground wire works, but not in my case. i tried and it still say
AUDIO ONLY...also, where would i go about finding my parking brake
wire if it comes down to it?! if someone knows, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Rather than grounding the parking brake wire, have you considered using
a toggle switch to ground instead? Doing this will fix many of the
parking brake issues unless the unit has GPS and uses the NAV to detect
speed.
Lastly, if you don't want to completely bypass the parking brake feature
with the toggle switch, make sure you use a diode, otherwise your dash
light will come on when you flip the toggle switch.
