Hi. I'm looking for some advice on head unit selection. I just bought a
2001 Monte Carlo LS. It will accomidate up to a double-DIN stereo. I have
my eye on the Pioneer FH-P800BT right now, but am looking for other
suggestions. I've also been looking at a lot of the Innovatek products,
most of which have an oversize face fitted to a single DIN receiver, but I
don't know a whole lot about this brand name. The one thing that I want to
know before I go out and buy any head unit is if anyone makes a unit that is
compatible with GM's OEM stereo functions. The CD player in my Monte Carlo
not only acts as the source for the music, but by accessing a submenu with
the radio off, it also lets you reset the Change Oil light, program a new
keyfob, control timers for exterior lights, etc. Obviously when I remove
the factory radio, I will lose the ability to control these extra features.
Fortunately though, there is another way to reset the Change Oil light,
which is probably the only function I will need normally.

The main features I am looking at are Bluetooth, MP3 and possibly video
playback to an external monitor, 3 sets of RCA outputs with sub control, USB
input and possibly SD input (SD is not a necessity). And, if there is an
adapter to somehow control the factory GM functions that will wire into the
head unit hassle free, that would be a plus. I haven't personally come
across anything like this and I have been doing quite a bit of research on
head units lately.

Thanks for any input or help.
