View Full Version : Direct hookup - cassette deck stopped working

June 11th 08, 03:09 PM
I have kept the power button on my cassette deck in the On position,
and have it hooked up to the power outlet of the receiver, so that it
is turned on whenever I turn the receiver on. It has been like that
for the past few months, but a few weeks ago I noticed that it lights
up but doesn't function anymore. Is that caused by the direct hook
up, for lack of a better term?

Thank you in advance ..

It may be that your cassette deck has a timer record switch. This sets
the deck so that when power is switched on the machine will go straight
into "play" "record" or "stop" as you choose. If this switch is present
then check that it is in the position you want and that, if you want it
to record the cassette is not write protected.
