I must be missing something silly here and would certainly appreciate
any help...
I'm Trying to record a coaxial digital audio stream from a Scientific
Atlanta Explorer 3000 cable receiver using an Edirol UA-1D, but no
joy.
The UA-1D seemed to auto-install fine with using XP on my Toshiba
Laptop (1.7gHz). The green LED on the UA-1B labeled "USB Audio
Interface" lights up.
Using the Roxio Audio Central Sound Editor, I can select the UA-1D as
the recording device, but the Recording Source is grayed, saying "No
audio input sources found".
Using the Microsoft Sound Recorder Ver. 5.1 included with XP, I can
select the UA-1D and set the audio format to PCM and the Audio Format
to 48 kHz, 16Bit, Stereo 187kb/sec, but when I click "Volume" in Audio
Properties, no volume control appears and also the "Advanced" button
is grayed out.
Does the UA-1D automatically select between 32/41/48 kHz sampling
rate?
Both these applications seem to work fine if I select my sound card as
the recording device rather than the UA-1D.
Thanks for any advice,
-Harry
