Nakamichi 8.5 DVD player randomly won't play ANY music CDs.

I bought a Nakamichi 8.5 about three months ago. Everything was
working fine until about two days ago.

Now the DVD player randomly won't play ANY music CDs. MP3 or
prerecorded CDs. It says NO PLAY. And then sometimes it will play
the CD. Sometimes it makes a crunch crunch sound before the NO PLAY
display comes on.

The DVD player works fine with any DVD movie.

Please help
