MXP ROCKS on the sound and build quality, bites on the automation. But you can use
API mic prees and EQs as a dropin!

Walter Sear had Avalon redo some of the cards as well.

Some people call a JH636 VINTAGE but i usually call them...

OLD

Unless someone really wants to buy one, in which case "of course, that is a vintage
console!"

LOL

Randy Blevins sez the later ones, 1083-88 when the discontinued them, rocked. the
older ones had headroom and ringing issues up te wazoo. When I stopped using JH636
and Harrison thingies and went back to tracking on API and Trident, I thought I dies
and went to heaven!

SOOO much easier to get signal through API or trident.

But the MXP3000 is a LOT of gbang for the buck!

In addition to the API, Avalon, and GML retros, the coolest new/current
stuff for 'em is made by Fred Forsell - see:

Forget FF, but I probably can find you a GML to stick in it!

;-)

I do have a client with FF on a JH636!!

Makes a lot of hits, too. I can't even RESPOND when he reminds me that this is what
he uses, I am so speechless.
