Recommendations for a Crown D-40

Hello,

I have a Crown D-40 amp that I would like to integrate in my set up.
Can someone recommend a good use for this amp? I've heard both as a
reel-to-reel playback amp and as a headphone monitor. Also, which
speakers have you found worked best with this?
