View Full Version : API eq's current value?

Hi y'all,
I own some API EQs that I rarely use anymore these days. So I'm
thinking of selling them, and I was hoping for some feedback here
regarding their current value. Yeah, yeah, I know; they're worth $50
each and you'll give me $275 for the lot of them. :>) But
seriously folks.....
I've got a pair of 550-A's and a pair of 550's; these are all
vintage ones with 2 2520's inside each, plus I've also got a pair of
the original, "hen's teeth", 560's with the original faders in
excellent condition. All these EQs are in great working condition,
serviced and recapped by Brent Averill over the years, and they're in
pretty good cosmetic condition too, considering their age. Again,
they're all originals, not re-issues.
Whadaya think, what can I get for them? All I see is re-issues
on eBay and elsewhere. Have the originals really become that rare or
what?
If I still had a pro studio, or even just a drum room, I'd
definitely keep them; I love these things! But I just never use them
anymore here in my home studio.
As always, thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!
Cheers, and Merry Chritmas!
Rick.

Howdy, Rick,

You could expand opinions and probably get some truly market-value
offers by asking this in Terry Manning's "Whatever Works" forum over at
ProSound Web.

Happy Holidaze to you, too~
