I know I'm on the low end budget and gear for this group but I've been
doing audio engineering for many years (except the 14 year break I
took to raise my daughter). The technology has come a long way since
1992, as I've learned over the last 2 years.
I'm using a box with windows XP on it and an M-audio 410 firewire
input/output box. My windows media player works just fine until I
turn on Cakewalks Sonar 7 and then the audio won't play on both Sonar
and Windows media player at the same time. I have to close one of the
applications to get the other to have sound. I have 8 output channels
on the M-audio box assigned channels 3 & 4 out of the 8 outputs on the
M-audio interface. I guess I was just hoping that I could get windows
windows media player to use channels 1 & 2 but I can't find out how to
specify outputs on windows media player. I tried other players
without success. I need both running at the same time for training
videos on my DVD player. I also use Kontakt and its' tutorial has
the same problem.
Someone please help.
