View Full Version : Can't burn WAVs from Pro Tools...?

For some reason none of the WAV files I bounce from Pro Tools LE seem
to be recognized by any CD burning programs except iTunes. Being that
iTunes is a phenomenal pain in the ass to import the files, find them
in the library, collect them together and then burn them, I
desperately want out. Anyone know why Pro Tools-generated WAVs are so
mysterious? Is it the file resolution or something?

thanks

Isaac

I have no problem, are you sure you're choosing the right wav format?

Make sure you bounce as 16-bit interleaved stereo WAV files, not some
other format such as 24 bit, split stereo.

You may be getting Broadcast Wav files, which can be read by
absolutely any software that is compliant with the original
..wav spec, but in reality can be read by extremely few
programs that weren't written with Broadcast Wave in mind.
Most programs just assume a 44 byte header at the beginning
of the file, which is not mandated by the spec.

How archaic. You mean to say PT can't convert any mix of various spec media
files 'on-the-fly' while burning a CD ? Sheesh Vegas has done that for
years.
